FINE PAYMENT OPTIONS

You may choose to pay your fine in person, by mail, and on this website or over the phone with a credit card.


Pay by Phone or Internet: Call (707) 463-6872 or Click here to pay by MasterCard or Visa using our automated phone service. You will need your case number, date of birth, and daytime phone number


Please note: When paying by credit card, there is a $8.00 convenience fee automatically added to the amount you enter as your payment.


Pay by Mail:  Check or money order only.  Write your docket or citation number on your check or money order, as well as any correspondence you include. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope with any correspondence requiring a response from the court, and mail your payment to the appropriate address:

Pay in Person: Stop by either branch at the address above and pay with cash, check, money order, MasterCard, or Visa, or set up an installment payment plan.

 

Traffic School Approval

Receipt of bail and the state-mandated $74 traffic school fee by the court will automaticaly approve you for traffic school and grant you a 90-day extension from the original due date on your citation to complete the course.  If you are paying and attending traffic school, add $74 to the total bail when you make your payment.  Please see our Traffic School page for more information.

 

Extensions

One 90-day extension may be obtained by mail, by phone or in person on moving violations. If corresponding with the Court by mail, you will need to include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Extensions are not allowed once the due date has passed. Extensions are not allowed on citations that require a mandatory court appearance.

Payments are posted to cases throughout the day and are received from various sources. If your case number is listed, we have received and posted your payment.

INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLANS

The Court offers two types of installment payment plans on non-delinquent cases:

Traffic School Installment Plan

The $74 traffic school fee is added to the total amount due. Your initial payment is 10% of the total due, including the traffic school fee, with the balance divided into three equal monthly payments.  Visit the Court Clerk's Office before the due date printed on your citation or courtesy notice to set up the payment plan.

Non-Delinquent Account Installment Plans

Your initial payment is 10% of the total due, with the balance divided into 12 equal monthly payments. Visit the Court Clerk's Office before the due date printed on your citation or courtesy notice to set up the payment plan.

Past Due Citations

Once the due date on your citation has passed, you must work with the Mendocino County Collecetions Department to resolve your citation. Contact them at (707)234-6850.
